The recipe for the savory pie with peppers, cheese, and balsamic vinegar

Let’s discover all the steps and main ingredients for this tasty preparation.

Ingredients for 4 people

  • 1 roll of rectangular puff pastry,
  • 150 g of Edam (or another cheese of your choice),
  • 3 peppers (one red, one green, and one yellow)
  • Mint, extra virgin olive oil, salt, and pepper to taste.
  • Balsamic Vinegar of Modena IGP to taste.

The preparation

To prepare this savory pie with peppers, take the peppers, wash them, and dry them carefully. Then place them in a static oven at 180° for 40 minutes, remembering to turn them at least a couple of times during cooking. After this time, let them cool. Once cooled, remove the skin and clean the inside, eliminating the seeds and inedible parts. Then cut them into thin strips. Place them in a bowl and add pepper, salt, and a drizzle of oil. Mix everything together and add the mint and balsamic vinegar.

For assembling and baking the savory pie with peppers, line a rectangular mold with parchment paper and, after unrolling it, carefully arrange the puff pastry. Then prick it with a fork. Next, take the cheese and grate it to cover the entire surface of the pastry well. Finally, arrange the peppers, alternating the strips based on color. Fold the edges inward and bake the pie in a static oven at 200° for about 30/35 minutes.
